Looks like U.S. international Herculez Gomez is starting the Mexican season with the same scoring flourish we saw a few months ago during the man?s spring sprint. His goal Saturday, along with one from teammates Darwin Quintero, helped Mexican champion Santos Laguna rally from an early deficit to claim a victory at San Luis.
Also in Mexico of interest to U.S. Soccer fans, one match featured four U.S.-born men.
Tijuana downed Puebla, 2-0, with help from American midfielder Joe Corona and defenders Edgar Castillo and Greg Garza. Meanwhile, DaMarcus Beasley was on the field for Puebla but left in the 20th minute, injured.
