Sister Amata Miller, IHM to address global economic justice :: St ...

St. Kate's Economics Professor and Director of the Myser Initiative, Sister Amata Miller, IHM, has been invited to speak at JusticeCraft 2012 at Saint Mary?s College, Notre Dame, Ind.

Sponsored by the Holy Cross International Justice Office and the Sisters of the Holy Cross, JusticeCraft is an intensive weeklong seminar that prepares participants to lead and coordinate justice activities of religious congregations.

The global conference draws participants from all over the world to discuss how global power structures are changing and practical strategies?for engaging congregations in the work of creating a just and sustainable society.

Amata Miller currently teaches economics and directs the Myser Initiative on Catholic Identity at St. Catherine University. In addition, she teaches in the Master of Arts in Social Justice program at Marygrove College in Detroit.

Honored with the Association for Catholic Colleges and Universities's Monika Hellwig Award for national leadership, she is a frequent guest lecturer and author on issues related to the implications of globalization for human and environmental well-being from the perspective of the principles of Catholic social teaching.

She is a member of the Partnership for Global Justice's?board and also serves on the organization's Global Economic Justice workshop team.

She has also served as education coordinator and economic analyst at NETWORK: A National Catholic Social Justice Lobby in Washington, DC.
